Why is it important to learn a second language?
The importance of learning a second language is under appreciated, and many people fail to see the value of it. Even apart from career—because not everyone is motivate by money—there are plenty of benefits. However, I can’t neglect the necessity of it in career so I’ll start with that.
To those who are pursuing a career, its best you know that there are businesses that would pay 10, 15, 20% or even more to people who have the skills to speak a second language. And they’ll do it willingly. So do you still ask “why is it important to learn a second language?”
Of course money is not everything. And if money doesn’t move you, but traveling does, who is more likely associate to be send aboard? A regular associate who is not bilingual or one that can speak the language of the place a business needs to send a representative? Yes. It is important to learn a second language, and this is why.
Apart from income, job and traveling, it is still important to learn a second language for your community. Have you notice you are not always surrounded by people who speak the same language as you? When you speak a second language, you can use it in your community, your neighbor or even at home, with some friends who don’t just speak your language. How can you assist anyone who needs help in your cmmunity if they don’t understand you and you don’t understand them? Now is it important to learn a second language?
There are many reasons to learn a second language. If you really think about, you can’t put a price tag on how important it is. This is just a bit to show the importance of learning a second language. We can find planty of reasons if we sit down and brain storm on this topic, so I encourage you to look in to learning a second language. Who knows, your lover might be waiting for you to say something to them in their language!
