It’ll try to dismiss you from accomplishing your goal but remember, frustration will come with anything that is foreign. Stress—stress in learning a language is caused by the unknown, and many times when things don’t turn out like you as plan, the unknown will cause stress. So before you start learning a second language, equate this in your goal. When you anticipate this and you add it to your equation, it‘ll be easier to deal with it when the time comes.
False expectation—false expectation is one of the biggest things you should watch out for. A lot of second language courses will try to tell you how easy it is to learn a language and how fast you can learn it. But they seem to always overlook one of the key factor in the equation of success—time. Learning a second language is going to take time no matter what method you use. Avoiding this false mentality will take you a long way, to the point of achieving your goal.
When you want to learn a second language, add these obstacles to your cost and you will have solid foundation to your goal. Knowing your enemy will give you upper hand on their weakness. Add to that hard work and consistency, you can and will learn a second language. It all starts with knowing what you’re getting yourself into. Yes it’s hard learning a second language but it is not the first for you. If you were able to learn one language, you sure can learn a second language.
